Halloween 2016!

There are many reasons I love my little town. So many things that make it special, but for me, Halloween is by far the best night here. Once again, ghosts, witches, monster, animals, princesses, super heroes, and more took over the streets and transformed this little town into a creepy, beautiful, magical, slightly twisted, perfect Halloween.

We wandered through the streets running into friends, receiving lots of candy from our generous neighbors, got a bit scared at times, and had fun.

So here is our night, in pictures!

That one neighbor, who takes Halloween even more seriously than I do....

Halloween 2014

I wait for this night, impatient and excited. I love everything about Halloween.  I love the pumpkins, the costumes, apple cider, trick or treating, candy, spooky decorations...I love Halloween. After a few cancelled Halloweens due to bad weather, no power, and snow, I am thrilled that we have a real Halloween for the second year in a row.

When we moved to our town, we met a neighbor who grows giant pumpkins, another who puts together the most amazing Halloween display, a Main Street filled with tons of trick or treaters and more amazing decorations...and I knew immediately that this was the perfect place for us.

Last night, we ventured out with our trick or treaters and saw spooky zombies and beautifully lit up houses, wandered through fog, ran into friends, and carried home bags full of treats.

Each year, my neighbor's Halloween display is my last stop. There is so much to see, I need to stand there and take it all in. As much as I don't like to be scared, he somehow manages to put together a display that is spooky and dark without being too scary.

The Halloween house...2 days late but worth the wait

The past two years, Halloween was postponed (2011) and canceled (2012) due to horrible weather and no power. This year, we were all so excited for Halloween and to finally have a real Halloween. We were able to trick or treat on Halloween, but unfortunately, rain prevented this amazing Halloween display from being lit. Thankfully, the display was postponed until tonight, and it was worth the wait.

I don't think this needs much narrating, so I will let the photos speak for themselves. I hope you enjoy this glimpse into how Halloween is celebrated here.
